Our Story: Karen, a self-confessed bored housewife, embarked on a journey of self-discovery and found her fulfillment in creating Bags of Bites. In 2002, armed with great ideas, immense passion, an electric mixer, and her granny's old bread slicer, she started making biscuits in her kitchen. Today, Bags of Bites offers over 40 varieties of handmade biscuits and supplies outlets nationwide.
Our Operations: Based in Paarden Eiland, Cape Town, we now have a factory and a team of 26 dedicated staff members.
Our Strategy: At Bags of Bites, we prioritize innovation and product development, particularly in line with the latest health trends such as wheat- and sugar-free options. We not only focus on manufacturing delicious biscuits but also recognize the significance of empowering individuals without prior training or skills, providing them with a sense of belonging and worth.
Rebranding: After nearly two decades, we decided it was time for a fresh new look, closing the chapter on our original branding. With over 40 diverse products that fit into nine dietary categories, we have adopted a stronger colour scheme and clearer dietary identification to assist our customers in making their purchases. Our motto remains: "New Bags... same Bites."
The Future: We are excited to share that we are not only attentive to our customers' dietary needs but also working on launching a new range called "Naturally Loaded." These products will cater to customers seeking grain-free, dairy-free, egg-free, and no-refined-sugar options, making them vegan-friendly.
Furthermore, our products hold both Kosher and Halal certifications.
